Knife Awareness Seminar
Starting in May, I’m running a series of free workshops for the community—7 for kids and 7 for adults—as my way of giving back.
Watching Netflix's Adolescence, and it really made me reflect society and on how much the martial arts journey has helped me navigate life.
These workshops are my way of paying it forward—sharing knowledge, helping people feel safer, and doing something real for the community that’s supported me for so long. (33 years I have been teaching for!)
The first one is coming up soon—it’s focused on knife threat awareness and personal safety for teens, something I’ve spent years studying and training in. No flashy stuff—just practical, potentially life-saving skills.
Police trainer and Instructor Gary Foster and I will help
teens navigate these concerning times.

About Family
Martial Arts Centres
At Family Martial Arts Centres, we believe that martial arts are for everyone, and we take pride in offering a welcoming and supportive environment for families across the northwest of England.
With 23 locations, we specialise in teaching Tang Soo Do, a traditional Korean martial art known for its emphasis on discipline, respect, and self-improvement.
Our mission is to empower students of all ages to grow both physically and mentally while building confidence, focus, and resilience.
Our classes are designed to cater to families, with a focus on children aged 3-14. We understand the importance of engaging young minds and bodies, and our structured programmes provide a fun yet challenging experience that promotes teamwork, respect, and personal growth. We also offer opportunities for parents and guardians to get involved, creating a positive and energetic community that supports family well-being.
At Family Martial Arts Centres, we believe martial arts is not just about physical skills—it's about character development and lifelong learning. Whether you’re looking to improve fitness, learn self-defence, or join a vibrant community, our doors are open to help you and your family thrive.
